As a classical harpist Caryl has regularly performed in various venues in and around London and with orchestras in Wales, London and the South of England. Caryl has extended her harp studies to include the kora, the West African harp, with an MMus in Performance in Ethnomusicology at School of Oriental and African Studies, attaining a Distinction. Caryl studied the kora with Maya Jobarte and Kadialy Kouyate in London and Wali Cham Jobarte in the Gambia.

Caryl has an extensive repertoire covering classical, popular and jazz on the harp, and she is equally competent in improvisation, with a style influenced by the West African kora. Caryl recently performed and composed the harp part on a single which was played by Huw Stevens on Radio 1 as part of the band A-Line, a Welsh contemporary folk group with whom she composes and performs. The single has also been played recently, also on Radio 1 by Rob da Bank. A-Line have recently been booked to play at Latitude Festival in July 2008. Caryl has performed recotals of traditional Welsh melodies and also performed romantic music with RADA during poetry readings entitled 'Harp and Hearts'. Caryl composes her own music for harp, guitar and percussion based upon classical, west-african and contemporary influences.
