Emer's concerto performances have included the British premiere of the Christopher Rouse Concerto with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra in Marin Alsop's debut concert as Principal Conductor, and the Irish premiere of the same work with the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, with whom she also featured as soloist in the televised "Symphony Sessions". Emer has also performed as concerto soloist with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Irish Chamber Orchestra, RTE Concert Orchestra, Belgian Radio Orchestra and, as prize winning finalist of the Shell LSO Competition, the London Symphony Orchestra at the Barbican.

Her solo recitals with pianist Jeremy Young have included venues such as St Martin in the Fields, Bridgewater Hall Manchester, Queens Hall Edinburgh and the National Concert Hall in Dublin and radio broadcasts in Hong Kong. A keen chamber musician, Emer collaborates with many of the finest musicians and earlier this month toured Ireland with the Vanburgh String Quartet.

Emer is principal flute of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Britten Sinfonia, the Orchestra of St John's and is the flute player for the Haffner Wind Ensemble. She was previously principal flute of the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra.

Education
Emer was born in Dublin in 1975. Emer's schooling took place at the Royal Irish Academy with Doris Keogh. Emer's graduate studies took place at the Royal Northern College of Music as a student of Peter Lloyd. Her other teachers included Clare Southworth, Patricia Morris and Jo Boddington. Emer gained a BMus (Hons), Post Graduate Diploma and also the Professional Performance Diploma with Dinstinction whilst awards included an annual scholarship, the Bach Prize and Concerto Prizes. Emer was a Professor at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts from 1999 - 2001.
